KNUST releases list of shortlisted applicants for Graduate Entry Medical Programme (GEMP) for 2026/2027 Academic Year

The School of Medical Sciences at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, KNUST has issued an important notice to applicants shortlisted for the Graduate Entry Medical Programme for the 2026/2027 academic year.

According to the notice, shortlisted applicants are required to verify their names in the official PDF list released by the School of Medical Sciences KNUST.

Applicants whose names appear on the list are expected to participate in a compulsory access course scheduled to take place from April 27 to May 15, 2026.

The course will run daily from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the School of Medical Sciences within the KNUST Boadi Medical Enclave.

Participants are required to pay an access course fee of GHS 3,000 into the School of Medical Sciences account at GCB Bank, KNUST Branch. Applicants must present the original pay-in slip during registration on the first day of the course.

The access course will cover several subject areas including Biological Chemistry, Fundamentals of Anatomy, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Pharmacology and Physiology. Other areas include Logic and Reasoning as well as Quantitative Methods.

At the end of the programme, an examination will be administered by the SMS-GEMP Secretariat. Only candidates who pass the examination will be invited to participate in a selection interview.

Applicants invited for the interview will be required to present two recent endorsed passport-sized photographs, two endorsed recommendation letters from academic referees and original copies of their Senior High School and degree certificates for inspection.

Candidates must also provide proof of financial capacity to pay fees, including a recent bank statement within the past six months, the sponsor’s address and a signed letter of support from the sponsor undertaking to pay all required fees.

Optional accommodation has been made available for participants at Africa Hall KNUST at a rate of GHS 20 per bed per night for two people in a room.

The School of Medical Sciences has advised applicants to avoid middlemen or unauthorised agents, stressing that selection into the programme is strictly based on merit.
