The Hulede Foundation has opened applications for its 2025/2026 Academic Year Scholarship, targeted at brilliant but needy students of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). The one-year scholarship is aimed at supporting continuing students to pursue their university education without financial barriers.

The application is opened from December 25, 2025 to January 25, 2026.
ELIGIBILITY
The scholarship is open to all continuing Ghanaian students of KNUST who are enrolled in a full-time regular programme and demonstrate both academic excellence and financial need.
FRESH APPLICANTS (FIRST-TIME APPLICANTS)
Fresh applicants must meet the following requirements:
<> Be a regular continuing Ghanaian student with a Cumulative Weighted Average (CWA) of 65 or higher
<> First-year students are not eligible to apply, as their fees are covered under the No Fees Stress Policy
<> Final-year first-time applicants are required to complete 80 hours of community service and submit proof before the deadline
<> Applicants undertaking community service must collect a Hulede Foundation T-shirt from the Directorate of Student Affairs and wear it throughout the service period
FORMER BENEFICIARIES (RENEWAL APPLICANTS)
Students applying for renewal of the scholarship are required to fulfill the following:
<> Prospective final-year beneficiaries must complete a minimum of 80 hours of community service with proof
<> All other returning beneficiaries must complete at least 40 hours of community service with proof

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
All applicants must submit the following documents:
<> A one-page statement explaining financial need and why the applicant should be considered for the scholarship
<> Endorsed academic transcript
<> At least two recommendation letters
<> Copies of other awards or certificates, if available
All written submissions must be typed in Times New Roman, font size 12, and double-spaced. Applicants who follow the Hulede Foundation on its social media platforms will be given priority consideration. Only shortlisted applicants will be invited for an interview.

Since its introduction at KNUST, the Hulede Foundation scholarship scheme has supported over a thousand students. Records show that 1,051 scholarships have been awarded between 2021 and 2025, with annual awards increasing from 12 in 2021 to 339 in 2025. In addition to financial support, the Foundation has distributed 54 laptops to beneficiary students over the past two years to aid academic work.
